À propos
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Life Sciences, specializing in Biology and Health, with a focus on Experimental Therapies and Applications in Human Diseases.
During my Master's degree, I completed my research internships in Jeanne Amiel's team, Genetics of Developmental Disorders, under the supervision of Nadège Bondurand. My work focused on the role of ADAR1 and RNA editing in Schwann cell development and myelin maintenance.
I am currently pursuing a PhD funded by AFM-Téléthon and EUR G.E.N.E., under the supervision of Nadège Bondurand. My PhD project focuses on the role of ADAR1 and RNA editing in peripheral myelin maintenance.
Projet scientifique
My PhD project investigates the role of ADAR1 and RNA editing in the maintenance of peripheral myelin. ADAR1 is known to protect cells from inappropriate immune responses to double-stranded RNA, and mutations in the ADAR1 gene can lead to Aicardi-Goutières syndrome (AGS), a genetically determined encephalopathy classified among type 1 interferonopathies.
Previous work from our laboratory showed that ADAR1 is essential for Schwann cell development and peripheral nerve myelination.
Based on these findings, my project investigates whether ADAR1 is also required to preserve the integrity of peripheral myelin in adulthood and explores the mechanisms underlying this process including the role of interferon and integrated stress responses signaling.
